part 5 | expand

(12 weeks postpartum and beyond)

At some point after your baby is born, you’ll feel ready to stretch your wings a little bit, safe to leave your little one for a while while you work, visit with others or spend time on your own.

Being away from your baby can feel strange- after so many months of them being a part of you or very near you, it’s a huge transition to not be within arms reach. And yet, at the same time, the freedom can be incredibly nourishing and offer you a glimpse of what life was life when it was just you.

Whether your time looks like an hour alone in town or a weekend away, use it to recharge and reintegrate your sense of self.

Bliss List

• Treat yourself to a haircut, color or mani-pedi

• Invest in a few transitional pieces of clothing that fit your body now and you feel great in

• Go out to dinner or on date with your partner

• Take yourself on a creative date that nourishes your soul

• Take older children on a short but special outing without baby

• Set up tea dates or walks with friends you’ve missed catching up with

• Set up personal check-ins with key co-workers or send a mindful email that you’re back

• Take on a small/ low-risk work project you can do during naptimes

• Take the time to transition slowly into new childcare routine

• Begin to build up stamina in a form of exercise you love
